Best of 2008

So, this morning, I wanted to share my “best of” list–of this year…..No Doubt that this has been a blessed year for me–God is so faithful.

Best Song–no question in my mind, the song that has impacted me MOST this year would have to be….Your Grace is Enough, by Matt Maher (Also sung by Chris Tomlin)

Great is your faithfulness oh God
You wrestle with the sinner’s heart
You lead us by still waters into mercy
And nothing can keep us apart

So remember your people
Remember your children
Remember your promise, oh God

Your grace is enough.
Your grace is enough.
Your grace is enough.
Your grace is enough for me.

Great is your love and justice God.
You use the weak to lead the strong.
You lead us in the song of your salvation
And all your people sing along.

So remember your people.
Remember your children.
Remember your promise, oh God.

Your Grace is enough
Heaven reaching down to us
Your Grace is enough for me

God, I see your grace is enough
I’m covered in your love
Your grace is enough for me

Best Book(s)-God’s Word, of course, but in addition to that, I was introduced to a  book series that has changed my LIFE. It’s called the A.D. Chronicles, by Brock and Bodie Thoene, and while they are historical fiction, they have given me an insight into the life and times of Jesus Christ that surpasses my understanding. It will take me a lifetime of reading these books to understand the complexities and awesomeness of God.

Best video– I saw this shortly after New Year’s Day last year, and it’s haunting.

Best Movie–No question, FIREPROOF. It comes out on dvd on 1/29/09 and won’t that be a good-stay-at-home-date-night??

Best Friends– I made some really good friends this year. I am so grateful for Shannon, Ann, Jennifer, Joanna, and Melissa. (girls, get a blog. or a website. Must. link. to. you.)

Best Day–All the days God allows me to live, breathe, serve and love my family. Which was every single day this year! Yay! But one of the specific days I won’t forget is when I turned on knittinghelp.com and learned to Knit. (In February :) )

Best Food–I love PF Changs. Lettuce Wraps Rock. Joanna will attest. Also, coffee from your own kitchen is divine after not having it for weeks. Trust me, I could tell you stories….

Best Verse–(they are all good, right??) I went through pretty rough time this summer, if you recall, and just before I left (literally, three hours before) I left for that horrible trip great opportunity to serve the Living God, He used His Word to speak peace and love into my heart and mind, making sure I knew the victory is His. That is a day I won’t forget. Maybe that should be my best day. ;)

Go forward, Serve the King, and give Him the Glory!

  1. Fantastic lyrics to this song. Why is it that so many Christian worship songs today lack this kind of depth in their words? May God continue to raise up more and more worship leaders who sing more and more of God and His Glory rather than man and his need.

Keep up the insightful, Christ-centered posts!

    Soli Deo Gloria!
