Today I started a list in my journal. It’s titled THINGS I DIDN’T KNOW WERE IN THE BIBLE
The first bullet point? Deuteronomy 25:11-12
Who knew?
Scripture:
“For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach.”It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ ”Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ ”But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. (Deuteronomy 31:11-14)
Observation:
God has not made it difficult to see Him, hear Him, or know Him. His word is near—for me to read, hear and store in my heart.
Application:
He makes it clear—He wants us to know His Word, and He made it “not too difficult”. ‘Nuff Said. Make the time, He has asked for it.
Prayer:
Help me, LORD, to love Your Word and to be near to it, like it is near to me. Help me to see Your Word, to love it, to desire it and to want to know You more and more through it.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Praise the Lord for my King James Bible!
