16:90 Prosper

Scripture:

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. 

Observation:

The LORD wants His word read, studied, memorized, ingested, meditated on and known.

Application:

I am NOT going to proof text this as so many in the “health and wealth” movement do and say that if you read God’s Word, you’ll be rich, successful, healthy and prosperous.

But I will say that keeping the Word close and walking in its light is a great way to be successful at your relationship with the LORD. 

He will prosper that—and it will be successful. He will take care and you will have exactly what you NEED.

Prayer:

LORD, help me to walk very closely to You in Your Word. Help me to study it, meditate on it, love it, cherish it, teach it, talk about it and live by it. Make my relationship with You prosper through it, and for the relationships around me, help me to be Your light so that they will desire what I have with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
