2nd and 3rd bullet points on my “Things I Didn’t Know Were In The Bible” list…Judges 1:6 and 3:17. Just fyi.
| Noun | 1. | recap – a summary at the end that repeats the substance of a longer discussion |
| Verb | 1. | recap – summarize briefly; |
Scripture:
No specific verse today, but an idea…..
Observation:
Very interesting to me….is how the “recaps” go so well with Israel, yet shortly after every recap, they “did evil in the sight of the LORD and forgot the LORD their God, and served _________ & _________”
Application:
How often do we do this?
Pledge faithfulness to the LORD, recounting the blessing He has given and what He has done, and shortly after, we find ourselves serving other gods—self-pity, indulgence, gluttony, money, time-waster…fill in your own. It’s almost as if we need to do recaps every day.
“Preach the Gospel to yourself everyday” D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones’?
Prayer:
Jesus, help me to wake up everyday preaching gospel (the GOOD NEWS) of what You’ve done, to myself so that my life won’t be like the Israelites, always forgetting what He has done. Amen!
